Jesus came to pardon our sins. But He also came to heal the brokenhearted so we can walk in freedom.

Freedom from pain, guilt, shame, sin, and condemnation. By His wounds we are healed.

May God continue to bless us on the path to complete restoration and healing in Him.

Lion Country

Posted by Kristina Croft on Saturday, August 20, 2011,

“The devil goes about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5:8

The great Theologian, A.W. Tozer once said, “…it is a delightful thing when you know that you are close enough to the adversary that you can hear him roar! Too many Christians never get into ‘lion country’ at all!” I’m not sure if I would consider it delightful, but I have certainly spent a great amount of time in lion country! I have heard the enemy’s unrelenting roar all too often since we b...

Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire!

Posted by Kristina Croft on Friday, August 19, 2011,

Satan is the Father of Lies. It is his goal to keep humanity in bondage to sin and shame. What is his tactic? LIE! That’s all he has. Lies on top of lies, smothered in deceit, all dolled up with trickery, wrapped in treachery, all masquerading as truth. The very essence of temptation to sin is a lie. The enemy convinces us that something is good or worthwhile, harmless, or even necessary. And we take the bait. It’s cruel and vicious. But nonetheless, our reality. Our lives are plagued wit...

To Forgive or Not to Forgive

Posted by Kristina Croft on Thursday, August 18, 2011,

The other night in my support group we discussed forgiveness and came to the conclusion that we all need to work on it. We aren’t “there” yet. Even some of our veterans who have been in the healing process for years have been harboring unforgiveness and breeding bitterness within our hearts. We’ve all worked toward forgiving, and most days we do. But recalling that first day where our lives were completely shattered still brings very real pain. We’re thrust right back into that dark...

How Can I say Thanks?

Posted by Kristina Croft on Sunday, August 14, 2011,

Sometimes, in the midst of trial, it’s hard to look around and say “thank you.” It’s easy to focus on all that’s gone wrong. And sometimes I forget to thank God for what has gone right. A couple friends of mine who have gone through the hurt of betrayal have enjoyed reading the book One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp. They say it has encouraged them to find a way to be thankful even in the middle of life’s big messes. I’ve read several blogs recently that have touched on the area...

Making Love in the Midst of War

Posted by Kristina Croft on Saturday, August 13, 2011,

Lying there in the dark, our faces so close we could feel each other’s breath, my tears soaked my pillow as I poured my heart out again to my husband. This pregnancy has stirred up insecurities and hurt within me that I thought I’d already overcome. But that night it became very apparent that I am still struggling with the pain I felt from an emotional affair my husband once had. And as I spoke, barely above a whisper, my husband just stroked my hair and looked into my eyes. There wasn’...

Two Hearts Beating

Posted by Kristina Croft on Friday, August 12, 2011,

I ended up going to the Emergency Room today. We waited and waited and waited. After several hours, IV fluids, and 2 doses of Zofran, the nurse finally came to take me to get an ultrasound. The technician was strict and seemed cold. Gavin was not even allowed to come in with me. She didn't want to tell me anything about my ultrasound. But I asked if I could see them. And after seeing the look of distress on my face, she turned the monitor towards me. Two hearts beating. That's what I saw. Two...

Soul Surfing

Posted by Kristina Croft on Monday, August 8, 2011,

My family and I sat down last night to watch the movie Soul Surfer. A movie that our Christian friends have all been raving about. Such an incredible story of faith and overcoming adversity. We were excited to see it. We knew there was a possibility that the film would show girls in their swimming suits, but we figured it’s only rated PG and it’s a “Christian” movie, how bad could it be? Disappointed, we turned the movie off right around the bikini photo shoot that Bethany Hamilton’...
