Jesus came to pardon our sins. But He also came to heal the brokenhearted so we can walk in freedom.

Freedom from pain, guilt, shame, sin, and condemnation. By His wounds we are healed.

May God continue to bless us on the path to complete restoration and healing in Him.

A Great Reminder...

Posted by Kristina Croft on Friday, October 28, 2011,
I read this prayer on Ann's blog, www.aholyexperience.com, and I thank God for His gentle reminders of the purpose of my writing. Lord may it be so with me.

Walking in Freedom,
Kristina

A Blogger’s Prayer

I am no longer my own blogger, but Thine.

Refine me with each post how You will, rank me how You will.

Put me to service, or put me to suffering.

Let me be a follower, instead of seeking followers

Let me post for thee or be put aside for thee,

Lifted high, only for thee, or brought lo...

Either He's Sovereign or He's Not

Posted by Kristina Croft on Wednesday, October 26, 2011,

That’s what I always say.  But sovereignty is so confusing. Sometimes I think my head will explode pondering what God pre-ordained and what He did not. One of the most common questions regarding God’s sovereignty is whether or not God created evil, therefore pre-ordaining our sin.  When I consider my husband and how he was tormented for years by sexual sin, pleading with God to take it from him, it would be comforting to me to blame God. Then I could rationalize in my heart that his sin w...

Mourning the Loss of the Mystery

Posted by Kristina Croft on Wednesday, October 19, 2011,

It’s been a year and a half since we began this walk towards healing and freedom. And things have been going amazingly well. God has blessed us abundantly and He has completely transformed our marriage. It’s been incredible to see God at work in my husband and in our marriage. Our intimacy – spiritual, emotional, physical – has become something that we treasure and never imagined could be this good. I’m not saying we don’t have problems; we do. But the truth is we are really happy...

Revenge vs. Restoration

Posted by Kristina Croft on Tuesday, October 11, 2011,

I finally watched Tyler Perry’s movie “Diary of a Mad Black Woman.” I’ve heard so many raves about it. And while there were moments in the movie that I thought were touching, even funny, there was still the absence of restoration. Nobody wants to make that movie. The movie where the man rips out his wife’s heart but, through God, he is repentant and in the end their marriage is restored and their life redeemed. No. That’s not what we want to watch. We want to see the woman get mad...

Complaints & Disputes

Posted by Kristina Croft on Sunday, October 9, 2011,

So this study through Philippians is really kicking me butt. I’m realizing that I’m actually very selfish, lacking humility, doing things out of conceit (for empty glory), and just today, I discovered that I struggle immensely with complaining and disputing! I thoroughly love God’s Holy Word, but sometimes it really hurts. It hurts to see how far I am from walking blameless. It’s a good hurt. But painful nonetheless.

“Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may be...

Made to Crave

Posted by Kristina Croft on Monday, October 3, 2011,

I recently discovered a great blog, Secure in Him, by Malinda Donelle that offers encouragement and biblical advice for women who’ve been wounded by sexual sin. Malinda has her own story to tell, you can find it at http://secureinhim.blogspot.com. In the meantime, I really enjoyed her post, “Made to Crave,” which has some very similar ideas to what John & Stasi Eldgredge teach through their Captivating study. I think they are all on the right track. There’s much more to Eve that the C...
