Jesus came to pardon our sins, but He also came to heal the brokenhearted so we can walk in freedom.  Freedom from pain, guilt, shame, sin, and condemnation. By His wounds we are healed. May God continue to bless us on the path to complete restoration and healing in Him.

This is our Independence Day

This day last year is the day that I found out about all the pornography and the years of lying. It's the day everything changed. It was our worst day and our best day. It was the day my heart was crushed and the day his heart was freed. Independence took on a whole new meaning last year. On that day, my husband confessed that he was no longer dependent on pornography or lying. He had stopped using pornography two weeks before, but it was on Independence Day that he was completely freed from the deception and secret life he’d been living. I didn’t know it, but on that day, I was no longer dependent on a man who couldn’t love me. No. That day God intervened and turned our world upside down. We became independent of our bondage and completely dependent on the Lord Jesus Christ. He transformed us, redeemed us, renewed us, and restored us. On Independence Day I do think about our Founding Fathers and the sacrifices they made to make America a free nation. And I am so grateful to live in this great country. But what I am even more grateful for, what I celebrate tonight, is the freedom we have from sin. That Jesus, through His shed blood on the cross, gives us complete freedom from the bondage and depravity of sin. Not just sexual sin, but all sin. And because of His great love for us, we have this amazing opportunity to live a healed life. This is what I celebrate today. This is our Independence Day.
